Who Am I?
A bit about me... Well, I started my journey into adulthood working in the depths of Mordor sucking the life force from middle earth. By that I mean I worked in the traditional financial system, (yes, the enemy) as a registered Financial Advisor. After preying on the innocent for a number of years, I decided to ditch the desk, quit the sales pressure and KPIs, and work for myself as a trader/investor and entrepreneur.
It wasn't until years later that I would be introduced by some friends to the world of Bitcoin & cryptocurrencies, and I started learning about some of the altruistic endeavors that many crypto projects undertake. It made me realize that crypto has the ability to make the world a better place, which really hit home for me as the reason I got into traditional finance was that I was very passionate about providing financial education to people as I felt that it was something that was sorely needed in our society.
I wanted to help teach people how to work towards financial health and freedom, which of course, was not possible working in the traditional banking system. Once I started going down the crypto rabbit hole, it was like being blindsided by a train and my enthusiasm and passion for crypto exploded as I saw an opportunity here where I could really help people reach a level of financial health and literacy that the banks could never do by educating the masses about decentralized finance.
I can't think of a better way to help make the world a better place than by being part of this battle of bringing crypto adoption to the mainstream. Crypto may not be the end-all, be-all, but I do feel it is the best chance we have for humanity to escape the Orwellian 1984-style future we seem to be heading for full steam ahead, and if there is any chance at creating a better future for ourselves I want to be part of it.
Originally from Canada, I find myself enjoying traveling the world, with my guilty pleasure being just kicking back and enjoying the sun and sand at my beachside home in Portugal, although that doesn’t come close to the fierce passion I have for providing educational information regarding finance and macro-economic policies to anyone willing to listen. Over the past 8 years, I have had the absolute privilege and honour of becoming a writer, researcher, journalist, editor, Editor-in-Chief, and Head of Content Strategy for some of the biggest crypto and financial publications in the world, reaching millions of readers. My work has contributed to the success of the Coin Bureau, 99Bitcoins, and I have been interviewed across multiple platforms as a key opinion leader in the industry, with my work being featured in Yahoo Finance, MSN, Nasdaq, Block Telegraph, Cryptonews, the Fintech Times and more.
